Every cheese maker has a story

Julie became a cheesemaker without planning it! It wasn’t even on her radar.

In 2014, she and hubby Ron put up a barn, equipped it for milking goats, and bought a small herd. A local cheesemaker needed goat milk and Julie rose to the occaison.

Unfortunately, after 6 months milking and selling to the cheese maker, that person went out of business. If Julie is anything, she is adaptable! She learned to make goat cheese and yogurt and it was an immediate hit.

By 2019, she was looking for a way to have milk year round (goats are difficult to keep in milk all winter), so she bought some local cow milk. Within the next few years, she and Ron expanded the creamery to handle the demand and now buy thousands of gallons of cow milk every year, turning it all into yogurt and a variety of cheeses.
